I'm a CNN and political junkie and since it was an election season you can bet the kid was glued to his television. In between Romney Gaffes and Obama Care discussions, I stumbled upon an interview with an extremely successful entrepeneaur who was asked if he had any advice for recent high school graduates. His response was simply “yes, don’t go to college." The anchor was completely caught off guard by the statement and he asked him to elaborate. The gentleman went on to talk about how the average college graduate will leave school $60,000 in debt and more than likely not find employment that would come close to helping them pay back that debt. He went on to suggest that instead of college, high school grads should spend some of that initial college fund money traveling the world, learning a new language, attending a trade school or even looking into an apprenticeship. This is a philosophy Nugget & I learned the hard way. We went to college, didn’t learn shit, burnt money on school loans and eventually we both made the decision to DROP OUT. Both of us had to work shit jobs afterwards but eventually we found out that hard work would us allow us to do what we love and still make a living. By no means are we balling out of control, but we get up when we want, work when we want, and we don't have to answer to anyone but ourselves. They say do what you love and you will never have to work a day in your life. If you're passionate about something, why not go for it? Skip the college degree, get a library card and peruse youtube for "how to" videos. To put it simply, stack cheddar, not degrees!
